Green energy is now more affordable and practical for homes and businesses to install than in past decades. Green energy has become more realistically-priced for average consumers as various research studies by firms and academic institutions alike have made the technology smarter and streamlined production processes. In addition, as energy cost steadily increase; public approval of green energy alternatives has become greater.

Solar heating tubes are a good alternative to the conventional gas boiler heater type of units seen in nearly every property. The arguments that support this kind of green energy installation are numerous and should be considered when weighing what heating system to purchase for heating water in a residential or business structure to be built or renovated.

The answer to reducing expenditures for heating water is solar heating tubes. This is a relatively novel method that employs vacuum-sealed tubes for capturing renewable energy from the sun. The energy from the sun increases the temperature of the special fluid inside the tubes and distributes the heat in the fluid through the hot water system. This hot fluid can rise up to around 87.8 degrees celsius.

And because the tubes holding the liquid are sealed there is not a lot of regular maintenance jobs to do. The heating unit using the solar heating tube system itself, can go for virtually twenty years without ever having to be maintained, or fiddled with other than to switch the system on and off. The general lifespan of the old modeltechnology of boiler heater is thirteen years. A water heating unit utilizing solar heating tubes will last several years longer, and has an added benefit of being less expensive to use.

Conventional hot water heating systems usually come with 5 year warranties. This is five years that the property owner does not have to worry about beakdowns in the heating system while still paying for the utilities. After the five years is done, the tank could go at anytime. Another hazard of the regular hot water boilers has to do with the very purpose of the hot water heater. While safeguards on these electric appliances have improved dramatically over the last thirty years or so, gas leaks during installation and uninstallation of the conventional hot water heater can still take place. Solar heating tubes utilize the sun’s energy and not gas for heat, thus, chances of gas leakage is nill. They are filled with a special liquid that is ecologically safe so even if a leak were to somehow occur, your everyone in your house, including your pets will continue to be safe.

The power usage needed to pump water is much less than the expense of heating a 55 gallon tank of water. Hence, a system using solar heating tubes can be ran at a smaller percentage of the total power charges that comes with conventional heating equipments.

The present pipe system already in place does not have to be modified in order to work with solar heating tubes. In fact with most types of green energy the initial set-up is quite unobtrusive. It’s the same for solar heating tubes. There is not a massive amount of plumbing to be done, no expensive and hard to find pipes are used for the building itself, so this makes installation much easier than one would normallythink. Reading and researching is your first action plan. Contacting your state or county supplier, or finding an internet dealer would be your second step.

Be prepared to be overloaded with offers. With a lot of suppliers expanding their reach into the green energy segment, there are several dealers to select from. Make sure that whoever you buy your solar heating unit from is a reputable seller. For picking out suppliers, it is important to check references and to ask as many questions you need to feel at ease about your purchasing decision.

We wish you success in your implementation plans and we thank you for your willingness to learn the benefits of green energy, and specifically solar heating tubes. Reading this article is your introduction to a more energy efficient and environmentally responsible lifestyle.

#rememberatimewaybackwhen No really can you Remember a Time Way Back When the internet wasn’t what it is today. It was some much fun then and not at all cluttered with the busy lives of internet marketers or even marketeers. I don’t know the exact date but it must have been around ’89 or ’90 when the top internet provider was Compuserve. Oh those where the days. 14K Modems on dial-up. Cost per minute from your telephone provider plus the 5 or 6 quid Compuserve would charge per month.

In true internet spirit we didn’t really have Search, it was what ever Compuserve would throw at you through their portal. You could only get access if you loaded their browser software and as the internet progressed we eventually got a window on the world when compuserve opened up their network. They integrated Microsoft Internet Explorer into the system that allowed their users to reach out far and beyond the confindes of compuserve.

Once we discovered what was really out there, we needed a way to save all the places we had visited. Commonly known as our Favourites but there was no means of sharing those favourites with friends and family. We would just save them to this folder you could access from withn your browser and at this point ‘Bookmarklets’ was not even mentioned. Then some clown had the bright idea of publishing their favourites on line as a directory – Internet Directory was borne. Teams of people would spend every hour publishing links to web pages they had visited. Nothing fancy here, just plain old text links and if by magic a wave of web sites would start appearing all over the internet with everyone linking to everyone else.

The only reason I want to mention this is that I recently found one of those internet directories that is being maintained by a retired librarian at Sylvia Milne’s Web Page
Now bare in mind here there was no Google at this point. Infact there was no internet search, well not as we know it so there had to be a way so that people/surfers could find a web site. Internet Directories were an ideal way of sharing information and links to other web sites.

But you know what, the Internet hasn’t really changed all that much. All we have done is paint flowers around it and made it a lot more techie. When it comes down to it search engine bots or spiders whatever, really are text link scrapers. Feeding off all those anchor text links that all those librarians have collated in the last 20 years or so. I rather like the idea that the internet was complied by a librarian cataloging all their library cards.

You can get a real sense of that in Sylvias write up here. Why not tell us about your own internet directory or even start one. Who knows you could be the next Yahoo.

For now take care.

Spares and Repairs Colwyn Bay Conwy.

Although we do supply Spares and Repairs in and around Colwyn Bay North Wales it would appear that a certain individual is missing an oppurtunity to supply the community with spare parts. For now KUA Services shall take all the credit for this individuals slight oversight.

Talking of which, Yellow Pages made a huge mistake recently with the entry for KUA Services into the 2009 North Wales edition of the big yellow book.

With the sales persons egarness to sell off the available space to our little repair business, they failed to enter the correct business address and telephone number. Actually, they used the contact details from a previous entry into the yellow pages which was 4 years out of date.

Conciquently I haven’t had to pay for the entry circa 475.00 of our UK Pounds but means people are trying to reach us at our old telephone number.

The fact that I know how efficient Google is and the searching habits of my customers, I am going to guess that anybody searching for the telephone number 01492 58660 can now confidently reach me (Tony) on 01492 530627.

So with that said, if you do live in and around Conwy North Wales and you are looking for an expert in domestic appliance repair then you know where to come or at least call.

I must admit I am not a designer nor do I have an eye for colour coordination. Just the other night I got told off for wearing brown shoes with black trousers. So I need your help. Have you got an eye for design, layout and colour. I am having a logo designed for the new spare parts web site.

I hope to show it at the new spare parts web site www.spare-parts-pro.com

Before I do I need everyone to cast a cursory eye over the new design.

Go take look at http://99designs.com/contests/29888 and then come back and let me know what you think. We haven’t got long so I need you to do it today. How do you think this will fit in to our new site layout. What does the logo portray to you, has the designer got it right and what changes if any should we make.

Those that comment will get a discount token to use on their next purchase from the new site.

UpDate#

Competition is hotting up. We have had a good response from the design teams as I think they have done well. There are one or two howlers but you will always get that. I have also extended the competition to 12 days so that we can give moretime to the designers.

This means you get to vote a little longer and add your comments below. Oh! and the offer of a discount still stands. Just think, if you are in need of a new Bosch Fridge Freezer Water Filter in the next few weeks you will save your self a ton of money just by adding a comment. Wow!

A lot of people will find that they have to pay strict attention to their buying habits due to the present status of the worldwide economic system. One of the things that has recently been influenced significantly is the cost of electricity payments because electricity costs have been soaring ever greater. As a result many people all over the planet are taking a major curiosity about building their own personal DIY solar panels for home use. They can be a cheap substitute for steeply-priced commercially made solar power panels which might be above the monetary reach of most families.

Very few people would likely look at paying out in the region of $30,000 for getting a professional solar system fitted in their property. But when they find out that it is relatively affordable and straightforward to make their own personal DIY solar panels for home use they will very often will acquire an interest in solar energizing their household. The info that informs you how to locate the materials which you are required and how to make and install the solar energy panels can be purchased on the Internet via products like Earth4Energy.

DIY solar panels are simple and easy to build and install and do not need any carpentry or electrician’s abilities. Solar panels are not as efficient during overcast weather conditions or at night time therefore any kind of residential solar energy system entails the installation of deep cell storage batteries. These will make sure that enough power is available when required. How powerful your solar energy system will likely be relies on factors like the quantity of panels you decide to build and how much sunlight you can expect to receive. Geographic location isn’t as huge a factor perhaps you might think as solar energy systems may be successfully installed almost anywhere around the planet. You may perhaps need additional solar energy panels and battery packs if you resided somewhere cooler, but it really shouldn’t be a sufficient concern to reject utilizing solar power.

The Earth4Energy product that was mentioned earlier on assumes no special know-how and plainly explains all you need to understand using clearly highlighted instructions and training videos. Each of the components should be locally for sale in hardware stores. An individual solar panel could very well be built with a couple of days labor and you may continue constructing more to meet more of your current power requirements.

Do it yourself solar panels for use at home are the most affordable method of becoming electricity self sufficient or at least meeting a lot of your electric power demands. You could begin to see the financial results very soon because you would not have invested anywhere close to the price of commercial residential solar panels that could take a decade or even more to recover their original investment. As well as the environmental benefits and monetary savings you won’t have to worry about power outages. Do it yourself solar panels for home use will also be a great way to raise the worth of your house should you choose to sell.

The effectiveness of a household solar energy system may be enhanced further by additionally building your own wind mill. Providing you have ample wind that is. These can be made for roughly a similar price of a solar panel. When making the solar panel and wind generator designs in Earth4Energy you should be able to find the components you need for less than $200 for each solar panel or wind mill.

A projector alarm clock is likewise recognised as the ceiling clock. It is generally an analog or a digital clock built with a built-in projector that will creates an enlarged graphic of face of the clock on virtually any appropriate projection area or screen, which is invariably the ceiling of the room. These are not incredibly complicated and is usually built by hobbyists.

Advantages of projection clocks

The benefit of the projector alarm clock is the fact that it could be set up wherever, even areas hard to install traditional clocks on. They can be shifted quickly based on the projector utilized. The picture projected may be in monochrome or color. The actual graphic generated by the majority of projection clocks is big enough for a nearsighted person to quickly see from a distance. A regular clock of equivalent dimensions with the projected graphic would be expensive and not practical.

Projector clocks are also utilized in advertising. High-brightness analog projector clocks can be utilised to superimpose a company logo on the clock face, although there are low-brightness projection clocks designed for sports fans to project a favorite sports star or logo in addition towards the time. Projection clocks, like other clocks in the analog period, had been commonly analog. With the widespread adoption of digital clocks, digital projection clocks appear to have become the popular selection for several.

How it works

A projector alarm clock, almost in most cases needs some form of the backlight. Clock displays don’t radiate their own light. Several lighting technologies may be utilized to generate luminance to aid the projection in the face on the clock on to a screen or surface. These techniques can range from incandescent bulbs to LEDs. Projector clocks are divided into two groups, low-brightness and high-brightness projection clocks. The graphic created by low-brightness projection clocks is usually viewed only in a darkened room, even though high-brightness ones produce an graphic that may be viewed even in lighted rooms, but consume much more power.

Precautions

Most projector clocks draw their power from the mains from the house. Some also use other potentially dangerous technologies for example halogen bulbs and lasers. Halogen bulbs produce extremely high degrees of heat and can lead to fires if not kept away from incandescent materials and can even explode if exposed suddenly to cold air. Lasers one the other hand can bring about blindness id directed into the naked eye. So care ought to be observed when dealing with excessive energy projector clocks.

Have you ever Learned How to Ride a Unicycle. No me neither but you know what it really does look like fun.
There I was sitting on the sea front minding my own business when these two guys came ambling along.
I had my trusty iPhone with me so it was an easy snap.
Every other weekend or so I make my way down to the sea front at Rhos on Sea and sit at the corner cafe and have a Bacon and Egg Butty and a milky coffee. This one morning these two blokes came cycling along the prom straight into my view.
In the picture here you can see the view across the bay. There is nowhere better when the sun shines.
Anyway, as I was bimbling on my phone I couldn’t help but take this snap. I hope the two blokes in the picture don’t mind but it got me to thinking. How far has this been explored on the internet and has anybody decided to use it in a niche. I intend to investigate this over the coming months to if there is any mileage in it and lets post some results up to see if there are any takers.

As you well know, we upgraded our web site recently that now uses Actinic Business v8.

The transition was quite easy really that didn’t cause to much of a headache. The new v8 Actinic comes with an import facility that allows older versions of Actinic to be imported into the new package. This way there is no need to completely rebuild your catalogue and is a straight forward process until – all the mods you applied to your old design may not have filtered through as you might expect.

I’ll tell you something for nothing, new v8 = new web site design. You just spent a whole bunch of money on this software and you want to introduce all the dead wood into your online catalogue. NO! Out with old in with the new. Stick your neck out here and start from scratch. OK Its going to take hours days and weeks to complete but it will be worth it in the end. You will reap the rewards of all your hard work, I guarantee it.

Simple bit of trickery with a spreadsheet and you can have all your original file names poured straight into your new database, so all the pages that have been indexed by Google will still be relevant when you upload the new site. Later on we are going to talk about the little snippits I have found as work arounds in getting your pages up and running.

For now its TTFN

After great deliberation, we finally did it. We’ve now added the washing machine repair help blog for our appliance spare parts community.

Back in the days of yore, the keepingupappliances web site had a repair section that had hints and tips on repairing and maintaining washing machines. This was a mammoth task to keep updated because each page was manually edited in our trusty html editor. More about that later.

Although those repair help pages are still being indexed by Google, we never bothered updating them to the new web design layout. All the articles that were written way back when are now going to be written into this blog.

If you really need to know why we are doing this, then it will be explained in a separate category that we are going to dedicate to web development. You see we have learnt a lot about web development over the years and its changed so much, it’s barely recognisable from when we kick started this web site approximately 7 years ago.

For now, in the grand old tradition of web design, this is my first ‘Hello World’ blog page.

Domestic Green Engineer – An Emerging Profession

With the rising concern for the environment, the demand for a domestic green engineer is on the rise. In the past, the nations were more concerned about their developments than the environment. This resulted in the gradual degradation of the environment, and an ecological imbalance. Consequently, there have been changes in the food chains; increases in air and water pollution; depletion of non-renewable energy resources; and deforestation and fast erosion of the top fertile soil. Now, the nations have woken up to these problems and are trying to restore the balance of nature. A domestic green engineer greatly helps the world in this endeavor.

Role Of A Domestic Green Engineer:

These engineers help the builder’s to make green buildings, and homeowners to practice sustainable living. Thus, they help in protecting the environment, saving money, and building a healthy community. The homes and buildings are big emitters of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. By making small changes, like using energy efficient appliances, homeowners can considerably reduce their carbon footprints. These engineers are trained in various aspects, like electrical systems, plumbing, installation of solar heating systems, rainwater harvesting, etc. They help to build homes that make maximum use of renewable energy resources and are energy efficient and in sync with the environment. They help to reduce the electricity consumption of the buildings by using optimal electrical solutions, and green plumbing practices.

In many states it is mandatory to make provision for rainwater harvesting, and sewage disposal plants, while constructing new buildings. People are more concerned about their health and environment these days, and, hence. Prefer to live in homes constructed with natural materials. The world governments have also increased their focus on the environment and are allocating big budgets for green issues. All this has resulted in increased demand for domestic green engineers. This sector lacks skilled and trained manpower and, hence, it’s a good idea to enter into this profession; particularly, if you have an inclination towards sustainable development. The demand for the professionals trained in this field is also driven by the fact that the environment rules and regulations have become strict, and various tax benefits are offered to the builders and the owners of green buildings currently.

Due to the prevailing global economic crisis, there are fewer job openings in most sectors, but green jobs are still hot. Even though companies and governments are reducing their expenditures on a number of things, there is no such cut in budget for protecting the environment. The jobs for these engineers exist in a number of fields. You can become an instructor, join an NGO, work with a construction company, or start your own consultancy business.

If you want to become a domestic green engineer, then you should search the Internet to find the institutes offering these courses. The duration and educational qualifications depend upon the type of course you are considering. Since there is a trend to opt for recession proof careers, many institutes have started offering these courses. You can pursue a domestic green engineer course even through distance education.
