As you well know The Last Day For Posting for Christmas is fast approaching.
You know how I like to experiment with different internet marketing tips. Well I recently got wind of a new technique that was used during the recent President elect OBama result.
Massive result for our American friends but I digress. It’s all about using news trends to drive traffic to your web site. Appraently during the elections there was a huge spike in the search term for Polling Station Times or something similar. A marketing guru in the states used that search spike as a vehicle to get traffic to his site by writing an article about polling station opening times.
As I am in the midst of developing our new repair spare parts web site I figured why not give this a try. As we lead up to christmas I thought why not do something similar with our last day for posting with the Royal Mail.
I have written an article
When Is The Last Day For Posting
The aim is to let you all know that when we ship your parcel with the Royal Mail you will know that you would be required to place your order with enough time to allow for the parcel to reach you before you get stuck into your turkey.
The other point to all this is I want to see how long it takes big ‘G’ to index the page because as of this writing the page has not yet been indexed. So the race is on.
If you have happened across this page and it still hasn’t reached crimbo then give me a ping, a tag, a digg or what ever else you do. Let’s see if we can get that page on to the top spot of google for this search term.
When you’ve done that go check up on the news and and see what is hot that you can write about on your own web site then come back here and post a comment so you can tell everyone how you got on.
EDIT
Just so you know, this page was indexed within about 3 hours of me posting this article and proof that google is an active visitor to this blog. How many times could we replicate this for our chosen high profile topic and distribute it on our mini blog network.
Having said that, the link phrase I wanted google to follow to my new spare parts site has not been indexed so I guess there is some work to be done on the landing page.
Food for thought though!
